ANNUAL SEAAIR CONFERENCES
The Annual SEAAIR Conference since its first conference in Kuching, Sarawak of East Malaysia in 2001, is the Association's annual event where South East Asia and other Asian and Australasian regions' institutional research practitioners, scholarly researchers, and higher education decision-makers meet to share research and their rich cultural heritage through learning and sharing. The conference offers SEAAIR members an opportunity to mingle with leaders in the field from all types of institutions. Join us as rising stars and venerated academic and research veterans engage in a lively exchange of new ideas, time-proven techniques, and invaluable tools of the trade.
In addition, the Annual SEAAIR Proceedings are published as a collection of research articles annually that contain the contributions made by researchers at the conference and follow the forms and format of "Important Protocols and Instructions" for abstracts, full papers, submissions and presentations, subscribing to COPE ethical requirements and Creative Commons
open access licensing, and governed by its international Editorial Board and SEAAIR Executive committee, all on a voluntary basis. The published articles are accepted through the double-blind peer review process by an international Editorial team at the abstracts and full papers stages to ensure that they are of high quality, reflect solid scholarship in the fields of institutional research or higher education practices, and that the information is accurate and based on sound academically grounded research literature, constructs/measures, research models, methodologies, analysis, and discussions of findings, recommendations, and implications.
Here, you'll find essential information and protocols for publishing with SEAAIR. To learn more about our publication process, please visit our Publication General Information.
For authors, we have established clear protocols for submitting abstracts, papers, and posters. SEAAIR is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. New SEAAIR Preprints and Proceedings
After 25 years of hosting the SEAAIR Conference as a leading platform for academic, research, and cultural exchanges in ASEAN and Asia, SEAAIR is undergoing a transformation by launching the new SEAAIR Preprints and Proceedings. This new format aims to improve academic rigor, increase visibility, and align the conference with international conferencing and indexing standards, thereby enhancing author impact, reviewer quality, and institutional recognition across Southeast Asia and beyond.
Rationale for the SEAAIR Changeover: “More Visibility, Greater Rigor”
- Purpose: Position SEAAIR as a conference that balances rapid dissemination (Preprints) with rigorous, indexable scholarship (Peer-reviewed Proceedings).
- Key benefits: Faster visibility for authors, clear pathway to indexed proceedings aspirations, and transparent quality controls that meet global indexing expectations.
- Evidence of credibility: SEAAIR already adheres to formal submission protocols and has gained database recognition that enhances discoverability for authors and institutions.
SEAAIR “More Visibility, Greater Rigor” Proposition
- Dual-track publication model: Preprints for immediate sharing; invited, double-blind reviewed proceedings for archival indexing.
- Indexing-aware workflow: Preliminary review of preprints and double-blind review checkpoints designed to align with prominent international conference standards and Scopus/EBSCO/Cabell selection criteria, enhancing acceptance prospects for indexing.
- Author support: Offering structured timelines, reviewer rubrics, revision comments, and checklists to help authors convert conference presentations and preprints into high-quality, indexable proceeding papers.
